You + Landscape Details = Tick Borne Disease Prevention

disease, environment, wellness
Southampton, New York, USA

THANK YOU LANDSCAPE DETAILS & ALL WHO DONATED & SPREAD THE WORD. TOGETHER YOU MADE MORE THAN 2,000 TICK KITS AVAILABLE FOR FREE.

THIS PROJECT IS COMPLETE. Whether at work or play, everyone enjoys a beautiful day in the great outdoors … until it’s spoiled by a tick bite. Dread sets in and questions abound – How do I remove it safely? Should I see a doctor? In the age of Google searches and conflicting information, it can be difficult accessing the correct advice, yet there is need to act quickly to prevent potential infectious diseases. That’s why Southampton Hospital has created the “Tick Kit.”

Each Tick Kit contains:

  • a pair of precision tweezers
  • a magnifier
  • first-aid supplies
  • a tick ID Card with info on safely removing ticks

These handy kits can be clipped onto a backpack or fit into a pocket to help you respond with preparedness. Our friends at Landscape Details of East Hampton are generously matching your donation to provide these kits for free.

How this project makes a difference

Having vital tools at the ready for tick removal is the best line of defense to prevent transmission of tick-borne disease. The faster a tick is removed, the better the chances of remaining disease-free. This project will allow the Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center to continue to provide Tick Kits free to the public so they can enjoy nature and work outdoors safely.

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $16,000 to provide 2,000 of these Tick Kits to nature lovers and an additional 1,000 magnifers for children attending TickWise educational programs. You can donate either by clicking on “Donate”, or if you would prefer, send a check, made payable to goodcircle and note the project name, (Tick Kits) on the check. Mail to Goodcircle, PO Box 2784, East Hampton, NY 11937. Please enclose the address to which you would like us to send your tax receipt.
