Join forces with to help fund basic medical care for 11,000 people
PRASAD has a long relationship with the tribal people of the Tansa Valley, helping them achieve self sustainability through education, medical care and women’s Self-Help Groups. This goodcircle project, our third with the award winning organization, is raising funds for PRASAD Medical Services. In India, more than 66% of rural populations have no access to medical care. Lack of access to preventive medical care correlates to a 73% greater incidence of dying from an infectious disease that could have been thwarted.
PRASAD Medical Services focus is primarily on education and prevention-based care, while also providing treatment where and when necessary. PRASAD runs a full-fledged hospital and diagnostic center, a modern eye-care clinic, a comprehensive dental care clinic and acclaimed TB and HIV/AIDS programs. These are supported by preventive and educational initiatives that are permanently improving the health and welfare of Tansa residents. PRASAD serves a 25 km area with a population of more than 200,000.
The cost of this project is $32,290.00, which includes all administrative fees, and funds more than 11,000 medical visits for adults and children in the Tansa Valley. The PRASAD Board of Trustees – Frederic Dacqmine, Jyotika Patel, Deborah Royce and Harriette Cole, and Trustee Candidate Satya Stainton has offered to match every donation, dollar for dollar, for the next 60 days or until the project reaches its funding goal. That’s an incredible opportunity. For example, a $50.00 donation from you, matched by the Board of Trustees, sends 50 children to a day of Health Care Camp.
