Long Island Cares works to bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry on Long Island. Our Vision is “A Hunger-Free Long Island.”
Our organization provides nutritional food and support services for a network of more than 540 community-based member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care programs, disability organizations, veterans services and more. While the annual distribution of nearly 6 million pounds of nutritional food warehoused in our 27,000 square foot Distribution Center is at the heart of Long Island Cares’ operations, we function as more than just a food bank.
