The purpose of the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center is to support and motivate low income and minority children and adults to achieve their maximum potential. This is accomplished by offering the highest quality child care, youth programming, assistance through educational and enrichment programs. The Center offers teen groups and activities. There are adult development services, educational and recreational programs.
It is a lifeline for many in the community. Their children flourish in the many programs and play safely on the farm fields donated to create The Center in the 50’s. Over 150 families participate annually. Close to 50% of these families are Latino, 40% are African American, and 10% other. The majority of the families are working parents, often with multiple jobs and single parent households.
