Join forces with MuvStrong to

Literally take on cancer. With a swim team for the Swim Across America open water swim on July 11. MuvStrong of East Hampton has put together a power team: Connie Askin, Mike Delalio, Kerry Gaynor, Mike Gaynor, Gordon Trotter. They’ve each agreed to raise a minimum of $500 apiece to go directly towards the fight against cancer. AND, if the team raises $5,000 Mike D., Gordon, and Mike G. have promised to don pink speedos for the race. Imagine that….We are swimming for our community!! MuvStrong is swimming in the memory of Jane Gaynor and to honor Drew Birdsall who at 4 (nearly 5 years old) is receiving outpatient treatment from St Judes Hospital for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Read more on Drew’s story at https://www.stjude.org/hopeinthehamptons.

How this project makes a difference

This event, lovingly referred to as ‘tears and saltwater’ is a powerful community gathering high on emotion. “Some are crying because of grief…some are crying because they’re in treatment but determined to not give up, and another group, people who are in remission, people who have cancer in the rearview mirror, are crying for joy.” Research labs, such as the ones funded by SAA, and others, are making progress all the time. “Every swim event we hold, and we hold them all over the country, brings us a step closer to a cure.”

Our Goal

All funds raised for the swim will benefit Fighting Chance of Sag Harbor which provides all kinds of support for cancer patients, and the SAA lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Cold Spring Harbor Labs, and 3 other beneficiaries who have been instrumental in breakthroughs in melanoma and pediatric brain cancer. Support the swimmers to join the fight for a cure. Click on the amount you want to give and cheer on the MuvStrong Team. If you are interested – click here, http://www.swimacrossamerica.org/site/TR?fr_id=3400&pg=entry pull up the MuvStrong team and add your name and distance you want to swim. Then contact your friends and ask them to support you. Swimmers are asked to raise $500 each in donations. Friends and family can donate by either joining this goodcircle and selecting a donation amount, or by going directly to SAA.

Thank you!
