Join forces with Green Logic Energy, Truth Training, Blue Square Consulting, Amaden Gay, Southampton Optiks to provide essential equipment for the Ocean Rescue volunteers
East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue (EHVOR) is a 100% volunteer affiliate of Hampton Lifeguard Association. Community is at their very core. Among their many services, volunteers with Ocean Rescue protect, safeguard, and coordinate water-based local charity events involving thousands of swimmers, and promote water safety and education throughout the community.
How this project makes a difference
On call 24/7, the 77-strong Ocean Rescue team work tirelessly alongside other emergency services to ensure water rescues are made as quickly and safely as possible. However, budget restraints do not allow for funding of much of the volunteer’s own safety equipment – from wetsuits and boards to masks and snorkels. Members rely on donations to fund their vital lifesaving equipment. That’s where we need your help.
Green Logic Energy has taken the lead, and is joined by Truth Training, Blue Square Consulting, AmadenGay, and Southampton Optiks to support EHVOR by matching every donation until the project is funded. That means your donation has double the impact!
Our Goal
The total cost of this project is $18,880 and will cover enhanced rescue equipment costs including:
- Rescue boards
- Masks and snorkel sets
- Dry suits
- Educational materials
- Insurance expenses
In addition, a small portion of monies raised will go to a fund for the new water filtration system for the YMCA East Hampton RECenter pool where volunteers train.

East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue
Since 2003, East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue (EHVOR) has been responding to all water emergencies in the ocean and in the bays, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our organization is 77 strong with 66 certified rescue swimmers. This is the only volunteer organization of its kind in the country.
Our mission is to make expedient and safe water rescues year-round at all unprotected beaches in East Hampton by responding quickly while coordinating with all East Hampton Emergency Services. This coordination is accomplished through training with multi agencies in many different scenarios and locations throughout the year. This allows us to be prepared for any water emergency from Wainscott to Montauk. EHVOR protects and coordinates many charitable events such as Swim Across America that benefits cancer research and Fighting Chance, Surfers Healing for Autism, and Paddle for Pink benefiting Breast Cancer Research. Our volunteer organization safeguards thousands of swimmers each year in all Permitted Open Water Swims and Triathlons in the township of East Hampton.
Our members promote water safety and education by assisting Hampton Lifeguard Association’s (HLA’s) mission in waterproofing the East End. Along with the East Hampton Town lifeguards, EHVOR assists in training and testing children from ages 9 – 14 from Main Beach to Montauk. The successes of this year’s program led to a winning National Team at Daytona Beach, Florida, and to two HLA members being medalled in the World Competition in Australia. Members of EHVOR are committed to supporting our community through all of our efforts, as we will always be Lifeguards For Life!
